Simply put, bees are awesome. They fly from flower to flower, aiding pollination and encouraging plants to produce fruits and seeds. They are vital for maintaining a healthy and diverse environment, and they also produce delicious honey. Life would be quite different without bees.
That's why we're taking a new approach at Spiderman SE and promoting bee relocation wherever possible. Our licensed pest control technicians are also nationally accredited beekeepers, which means you’re dealing with a team that understands both safe pest management and the science of ethical bee care.
Bee-First Swarm and Hive Management
Most bee swarms are simply a colony on the move, resting while scout bees search for a new home. Unfortunately, that rest stop can sometimes be your fence, in trees or bushes, and sometimes on cars or other exterior areas. However, if a colony is in your roof or wall cavity, you’ve got a nest on your hands, and that’s when things get a little tricky.
Our bee management team, Sam Shaw and Sarah Cutting, combine vast pest-control experience with formal beekeeping qualifications and ongoing biosecurity training. Sarah holds a Certificate III in Beekeeping, has completed PIRSA Biosecurity & Varroa Management training, and is a member of the Beekeepers Society of South Australia. Sam has completed nationally recognised beekeeping skill-set modules from the same program and brings extensive hands-on expertise as one of the region’s most experienced pest managers. Together, we bring the perfect mix of qualifications and practical know-how, making sure every removal or relocation is handled safely for people, property, and bees.
Whenever possible, bees are rescued and rehomed through our sister business, Swarm SE Eco Bee Management, rather than destroyed. However, there are times when euthanasia may be the most responsible or safest option, such as when bees genuinely threaten people, pets, or public safety, or when bee hive removal and relocation aren’t feasible. In every case, we take the time to assess the situation, clearly explain the options, and respect each customer’s choice..
Where the Story Continues: Swarm Honey and HiveShare
After the bee hive removal, and our rescued hives are thriving, the hives sometimes produce more than they need.
That’s where Swarm Honey comes in — pure, raw South Australian honey from rescued and responsibly managed hives. Each batch is unblended and seasonal, reflecting the flowers and regions our bees visit. We only harvest when there’s enough to share.
Through HiveShare, households and businesses can host managed hives under expert supervision. It’s a safe, educational way to support pollination and healthy local bee populations — without needing to become a beekeeper yourself.

Protect Your Property and the Bees
If you’ve spotted a swarm, don’t spray or block it in, and don’t try to remove it yourself. Bees can become defensive if disturbed, and untrained handling often makes things worse.
You can report a bee swarm or colony below or call 1300 GO SPIDER to arrange safe, responsible bee hive removal.
